GHAF — our peace piece.

The ghaf is the tree this country chose as its symbol of peace and tolerance. It survives on almost no water, holds the sand together with roots thirty metres deep, and gives shade to anyone who sits beneath it, no questions asked about where they came from.

We named the piece after it. What we put on the back is the other half of the thought: a torn poster, stitched down onto a black panel, reading PEACE with PLEASE worked through it in red. A child with his mouth covered. Barbed wire. A skyline that is no longer a skyline.

One word doing two jobs, which is roughly how it feels to ask for it.

Cold machine wash, inside out. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron directly on the panel or the print.
